Choose the right procedure
MI-F appears in the official Law 14/2013 forms catalogue for family residence. The principal applicant’s status determines whether this family route applies. Do not substitute it for general family reunification or the separate family routes for Spanish or EU citizens.
What to prepare
Read the current category checklist before downloading a model. The published teleworker family checklist currently asks for MIT, the common application, despite the separate MI-F catalogue entry. Follow that current checklist; do not assume MI-F is always the required form. Other categories may differ.
Spanish fields explained
Distinguish the family applicant’s identity from the principal holder’s details. Vínculo familiar means the family relationship; initial and renewal must match the actual request. Prepare passport, evidence of the relationship and other category-specific documents, including translations or legalisation where required.
How to submit
Use the official electronic UGE residence procedure where the inside-Spain route applies. Check who may submit for the family category and how the application links to the principal holder. Consular visa requests follow the relevant consulate’s procedure, not this electronic residence filing alone.
After submission
Save each family member’s submission receipt and monitor the relevant notifications. Linked applications still need the required individual information and evidence. After approval, check each person’s TIE step and any renewal requirements. Recheck the current checklist whenever preparing a new application.
