How to read your result
Start with your own travel and moving quotes. Enter one-off document, insurance and settling-in costs, then a monthly household budget. Choose three months to plan the first 90 days, or change the period to match your circumstances. The total cash needed equals one-off expenses plus monthly costs multiplied by the number of months, plus deposits and your contingency reserve. The reserve applies to expenses and excludes deposits. The rental helper can use a dated city indicator multiplied by the home size; you must explicitly apply it, and you can replace it with a real offer.
Enter totals for everyone moving together, in euros. Family size is a planning note and does not multiply amounts. Count long-term rent once per month. Temporary accommodation is additional, so adjust the rental period if those stays replace rather than overlap. Do not repeat prepaid insurance in monthly health costs, or vehicle transport already included in a complete import quote. Published rental indicators describe a market, not an available property or a guaranteed price. Other empty fields count as zero and may leave the estimate incomplete.
Worked examples
- Illustrative three-month budget: €500 travel + €250 documents = €750 one-off expenses. Rent of €1,000 and food of €400 per month add €4,200. Expenses are €4,950; a 10% reserve is €495. With €2,000 in deposits, cash needed is €7,445. Other expenses are assumed zero only for this example.
- Keep the same illustrative costs but plan six months. Living expenses become €8,400, total expenses €9,150 and the 10% reserve €915. Adding the same €2,000 deposit gives €12,065. The deposit is added once, not once each month.

Common questions
Does this budget include the money required for a Spanish visa?
It includes the expenses you enter, but it does not test immigration financial requirements. Application funds, proof of income and restrictions on accepted evidence depend on the route and circumstances. Check the relevant visa calculator and official requirements separately; the cash budget is not an approval or a substitute for those funds.
Are the prices live and can I use the first-90-days scenario?
Choose three months for the first-90-days planning scenario. The rental helper is a dated published snapshot with a source link, not a live property feed. Its suggested rent is optional. Enter current quotes for tickets, transport, insurance and other services. A valid total can still omit costs you leave at zero.
